Review – Cavit Pinot Grigio ‘05

Tonight we enjoyed the evening with a delicious pork loin dinner. To top off the dinner I decided to accompany it with Cavit Pinot Grigio- 2005.

My grandparents cooked that good “ole” southern cooking and everything pretty much was cooked with bacon drippings. I have to admit pork loin cooked this way makes your mouth water!! I cooked button mushrooms in butter and garlic and served the pork loin on a bed of fresh green beans. Deliousioso!!

The grapes famous for producing Pinot Grigio were first discovered by monks in Alsace France. Its popularity eventuality moved into Italy primarily Fruili and Alto Regions where the popularity still flourishes today. In recent years the cultivation of the grapes has increased in California, especially the Monterey and Lodi areas.

Cavit Pinot Grigio 2005 is from Italy. It is dry, light and crisp with citrus aromas. We found it OK with our meal. We may try it again as it would pair well with a variety of foods. The price range for this wine is approximately $10.00.

As for the meal, whenever my husband comments after each bite I know it’s good…Then again what meal wouldn’t be good drenched in good ole bacon drippings!!!

We rated this wine OK
