In 1968 in Clarksburg California a 4th generation farmer named, Mr. Warren Bogle, Sr and his son Chris 5th generation, decided to plant 20 acres of wine grapes on their farm. 10 years later the winery came into fruition. Today with 1200 acres of wine grapes this winery continues to thrive. Now 6th generation Mr. Warren Bogle named after his grandfather, understands you must first produce great grapes to have great wines. The two gold leaf pheasants on each bottle show the closeness the artist wanted to depict with the delta river region were the vines are planted.
We have had this wine many, many times with two many dishes to mention. We have taken this wine to many parties were everyone has loved it. It is a recognizable wine and one that is usually the first grabbed and poured. It is affordable, a perfect gift and very drinkable now.
The aroma of ripe cherries hits your senses. The aroma and the taste of cherries is what come through the most. Tobacco and spice linger on the palate. With a meal or without, this is a good all around wine. This wine was aged in 100% American Oak barrels for 12 months. We like this wine a lot.
