Why did we design this site?
In October of 2006 while talking with our son (By the way he designs web sites including this one). We began coming up with the idea to start a wine blog review site that would eventually become a wine community site. KD & I designed this site, with the help of our son for a few reasons. One is we love people, all people from every walk of life. We wanted to design a site we could be proud of. A site that is relatable, one where others would feel comfortable visiting and sharing their own experiences of the wine world and all it has to offer.
What we are?
We designed this site for people like you who can come together, communicate and share their wine drinking, blogging, reviewing, discussing, praising and tasting experiences. This site is for the person who loves to share recipes, rate wines, talk about vineyards and wineries they have been too. You may share your wine pictures or wine blog reviews. You can start your own groups and forums with the knowledge that you are on a site designed with you in mind. Tell us about your vacations, and travels around the world. Communicate with people who have the same likes or dislikes as you. Invite your friends to a clean, respectable community. Meet others who share your same interests. Post your wine events for the world to see. Rate wines that you have tried. We invite all wine site bloggers and owners of wine related sites to join this community. We look forward to watching with you how the “The Wine Space” community extends to all areas of the world.
What we are not.
We are not like those so called “ Wine Snobs” pretending to know more about wine than any one else. In fact just the opposite, we look forward to discovering new wines along with you and getting your input on the wines. Our site will not tolerate never ending pop ups or distasteful materials or photos. We will not have anyone under 21 on this site. Those who do not respect the site and abuse their access will be deleted.
Where are we.
We are based out of the Santa Cruz mountains in sunny California. We are close to beaches, wineries, and the boardwalk. Not far away is Monterey, San Jose and San Francisco. Our location is central to a lot of California happenings. Two hours from Napa and Sonoma counties. Three hours from the Paso Robles area. In other words striking distance to a lot of California events. Here is where you come in..... By joining and describing your home location and wine experiences, be it New York, Spain, Italy, Africa, Chili, Argentina, Napa or Australia……… we all will be able to experience everything your state or country represents, great foods, wines, areas of interest and sites to see. Whatever state or country you are from, we welcome your input on the wine world. What does this allow us to do? This allows us to escape our daily thoughts and travel to where you are and all your locale has to offer.
How will we build this site?
There are different levels of memberships. Certain levels offer access to sections so that you personally are able to participate and add input to the site. We also have commercial accounts for those commercial companies and wineries who wish to advertise on our site. Each level will have certain privileges. Advertisers, wineries, marketers may also join and place there ads promoting their wineries, books, food, travel destinations, spa, getaways or whatever else relating to wine our members would enjoy.
This site has been constructed in a tasteful manner with people in mind who like a challenge and like being just a little different. People who want more out of life and all it has to offer. There are plenty of other sites out there, however we hope you will find that this site is everything your looking for. To share, to meet, to learn, to enjoy…………
