Title: Fog Vineyards Zinfandel ‘06
Category: artistic
Blog Entry: Review, Fog Vineyards Zinfandel ‘06 Tonight we decided to have Fog Vineyards Zinfandel ‘06 with our meal. We opened this bottle of Zinfandel to let it breathe. Once poured in the glass the color was a beautiful dark ruby red color. The aromas were of dark berry fruit. On the palate this wine was to me different than the aroma, although I could taste the dark berry fruit and hints of pepper, the wine on the palate was tart. That aftertaste was there as if eating a granny smith sour apple or a lemon slice. Now, Ron loves lemons so maybe he can agree that for him it was that pleasant tart aftertaste. For me not so, I felt that it had the basics for a Zin but the tartness was not to my liking. It was a medium bodied wine on the drier side with 14.5 % alcohol content and a long finish.      Zinfandel is considered a California grape, it did originate in Italy but is now primarily in California . Zinfandel can go from a light bodied to heavy red. It generally has bold flavors and pairs well with spicy & BBQ Foods.   We are uncertain of the cost as this was given to us to sample however, it can be purchased from WineShop At Home Artisian Wines, Napa California through member LetitWine. We rate this wine (OK)  Here are our Ratings: / Pass / Fair / Ok / Good / Great / Fantastic Disclaimer: Just because we like or dislike a wine does not mean that you will have the same experience. Of course it’s always worth a try….tell us what you think?? Aloha, KD
