Title: Review Estancia Zinfandel Paso Robles ‘05
Category: peaceful
Blog Entry: There are times when you just need
to pick up something fast on the way home. Something that will go with
a Hamburger, BBQ chicken or spicy stews. Of course I am taking about a
nice Zinfandel. A grape that used to be called the “mystery grape”. KD
made a combination favorite of mine where she takes hamburger, cooks
them in large squares. She then places these on a bed of spinach with
sliced tomatoes and red onions and has hot peppercini peppers on the
side. She then tops this “burger” with Pepper Jack Cheese. Sometimes it
does not need to be super fancy. It just needs to be good! It really is
to die for…I know, what isn’t good with cheese melted on top of it.
Our wine of the night Estancia Zinfandel ‘05. This wines name
translated to English from Spanish means “estate” a great name for
these wines. We have had 3-4 different wines from this winery and all
have been in the middle of the road wines or better. We have only
blogged about two of them so far, the last wines we reviewed was an ‘02
Pinot and 04 cab that we really liked. The name of this winery means a
lot to me…..it means if I am in a hurry I could probably grab any wine
with this name on it and be a pretty safe bet.
We paired this with our “Naked Hamburger”. This paired great
together. The wine is just dark, blackberry, jammy with a medium
finish, 13.5 % alcohol and affordable. You can find this wine for
around $10.00.
We would love to hear more opinions if you have tried their white wines.
We rate this wine (Good)
Here are our Ratings: / Pass / Fair / Ok / Good / Great / Fantastic
Disclaimer: Just because we like or dislike a wine does not mean
that you will have the same experience. Of course it’s always worth a
try….tell us what you think??
